SENTOSA COVE ARRIVAL PLAZA

SENTOSA COVE ARRIVAL PLAZA

This project served to deliver a hardscape-softscape composition that accomplished the client’s desire to highlight the waterfront character of the Cove enclave while emphasizing the tropical island theme of Sentosa.

The landscape implementation involved the introduction of rain forest vegetation and other plant species that have been richly planted throughout the plaza’s three-story building and its parking blocks. There was also the construction of a rock stream complete with cascades and a waterfall, which entailed negotiating different grade levels and the skillful fabrication of simulated rockwork akin to natural outcrops of stratified weather-worn rock forms. The stream feature is both biologically and mechanically maintained, with its M&E system also providing for infinity-edged reflective pool water features that were built on the upper storey of the plaza. Other landscaped elements include a simulated-timber boardwalk created at the main entrance, as well as custom-made precast pots and bollards that enhance the vibe of the exterior space.
