JERVIS BAY, SINGAPORE GARDEN FESTIVAL

JERVIS BAY, SINGAPORE GARDEN FESTIVAL

Designed by Australia’s Jim Forgaty and constructed by Tropical Environment, this garden depicted a gorgeous beach hut setting nestled adjacent to the natural bush and beaches of Jervis Bay, renowned for its secluded beaches, pristine waters and abundant wildlife. The beach hut featured the retro-feel of the 1960’s, with paved surfaces that evoked the pure white sand beaches of the bay, water features that symbolized its crystal blue waters, along with wall claddings inspired by the rugged cliff faces of Australia’s windswept eastern coastline. Planting included many plant varieties local to Jervis Bay as well as some exotics used in the area. This garden aimed at raising appreciation for the natural environment and the hope that such places continue to resist developers willing to tear down natural beauty for financial gain.
