TREE TOP LOFTS, RESORTS WORLD SENTOSA

TREE TOP LOFTS, RESORTS WORLD SENTOSA

Reforestation was the key feature of this project on the site of Resort World Sentosa’s luxurious Tree Top Loft accommodation suites situated in the secondary coastal forest of Sentosa’s Mount Imbiah.

Here, Tropical Environment was responsible for reforesting all vacant land around the lofts which were constructed on temporary construction access road that was formerly a degraded area of the forest edge. This involved dense planting of approximately 520 trees and palms and 16,300 shrubs and ground covers to create a layered forest effect that merges into the existing vegetation, satisfying the client’s desire in giving the surrounds of the Tree Top Lofts the feel of the existing forest.

Climbing plants were also planted at the base of the tree lofts to grow over their trunks and render an even more natural look amidst the forest greenery. Additional hanging plants were planted at the second storey decks, for them to cascade down and enhance the green envelope of the lofts.

This project was a true feat, given that the entire dense vegetation development was achieved in just less than a year planting.
