MYSTIC RAINFOREST, 
SINGAPORE GARDEN FESTIVAL

The design concept for this exhibit revolved around the creation of tropical rainforest, encompassing artistic simulation works that aimed to create a phenomenal impact in the minds of observers.

This 10m x 10m exhibit, though small, was successfully constructed to compress a large rainforest into a limited space. The given level ground was carefully crafted to feature rugged slopes and contoured levels that hugged along a pathway track crisscrossed by a meandering stream, with a higher level specially constructed for a 5m-high pounding waterfall. The exhibit carried a variety of rainforest trees and plants ranging from hardwood trees and epiphtyes, to orchids, vines and creepers. The forest also came alive with the sounds of wind, rainfall, sunlight, moonlight, mists, fog, and the echo of forest inhabitants.

The result was a powerful tribute to Mother Earth and a compelling call to nurture eco-friendly environments, even in the smallest of spaces.
